TOPS went unapologetically big with the Operator 7. The 7.25-inch blade is cut from 5/16-inch (0.310″) thick 1075 high carbon steel. To ensure this massive slab of steel remains resilient, TOPS utilizes a differential heat treatment that leaves the cutting edge exceptionally hard while keeping the spine softer and highly impact-resistant. A generous finger choil allows you to choke up on the blade for precision tasks, while the integrated hand guard keeps your fingers safe during aggressive thrusts. This specific OP7-03 model features a dark, non-reflective Midnight Bronze finish that provides excellent corrosion resistance while keeping a low profile in tactical environments.

How is the handle constructed?

Because a tool of this size generates massive impact forces, the handle is engineered to completely fill the user’s hand to prevent grip fatigue. The scales are uniquely layered, featuring a base of Tan Canvas Micarta sandwiched beneath a heavily textured Black G10 top layer. Once fully assembled over the thick full tang, the handle measures over 1 inch thick, providing an incredibly secure, hatchet-like grip that thrives under heavy use. The Operator 7 includes a custom-molded black Kydex sheath fitted with a dangler attachment, allowing this heavy blade to ride comfortably on your belt regardless of the terrain.
