The KA-BAR Large TDI 1482 serves as the “big brother” to the standard law enforcement backup knife. John Benner of the Tactical Defense Institute designed this larger version for officers with bigger hands or those requiring more reach and cutting surface. Consequently, it provides the same intuitive, punch-style draw as the original but with significantly increased defensive capability.
Specifically, the KA-BAR Large TDI 1482 features a longer 3.6-inch AUS 8A stainless steel blade. The larger Zytel handle offers a full four-finger grip for maximum control during high-stress encounters. It includes a hard plastic sheath equipped with MOLLE straps, making it easy to mount on tactical vests or standard duty belts.
