Upgrading the legendary KA-BAR profile, the Fighter features a formidable 8.0-inch blade with an extra-wide 1.5-inch belly. This added mass and extended length give the knife incredible forward-weight momentum, making it an exceptional tactical fixed blade for heavy chopping, aggressive batoning, and intensive shelter building. To maximize control during high-impact strikes, it is fitted with an ultra-durable, slip-resistant Black Kraton G® elastomer handle, ensuring the knife stays securely locked in your hand in wet, muddy, or snowy environments.

Built to withstand severe abuse, the 1269 is drop-forged from KA-BAR’s proven 1095 Cro-Van high carbon steel. The 0.165-inch thick, extra-wide blade utilizes a precision Hollow Grind and a 20-degree edge angle. This specific geometry allows the massive 8-inch blade to retain a razor-sharp, fine-slicing edge despite its intimidating size and structural strength. A baked-on black epoxy powder coating provides a primary layer of defense against corrosion, while the 56-58 HRC rating allows the clean straight edge to be easily restored in the bush using standard edge maintenance tools.

How do you maintain and carry the KA-BAR 1269?

This system is engineered for maximum environmental resistance. While the Kraton G® handle is completely immune to the elements, the exposed 1095 Cro-Van cutting edge requires routine oiling to prevent rust in damp conditions. The knife secures firmly into the included 1271S black hard plastic scabbard. This rugged, friction-fit sheath is completely waterproof and features multiple lashing points for versatile, MOLLE-compatible mounting on plate carriers and tactical packs.
