How is the KA-BAR 1217S constructed?

Crafted for heavy field deployment, the 1217S is built from thick, premium brown leather. To ensure the razor-sharp edge of a 1095 Cro-Van combat blade cannot slice through the material during a drop or heavy physical movement, all seams are heavily stitched and reinforced with steel rivets at critical stress points. The wide, integrated belt loop easily accommodates standard military web belts and modern rigger belts, while a heavy-duty snap-closure retention strap locks the knife’s handle firmly in place.

How do you maintain the KA-BAR 1217S?

Traditional field gear requires traditional care. To prevent the natural brown leather from drying out, cracking, or absorbing excess moisture during wet backcountry missions, we strongly recommend treating the sheath with a premium leather conditioner or wax protectant.
